By Wisdom (Part 1)
Main Scripture: Proverbs 24:3
"By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established."
Introduction
We live in a world with unlimited access to information, yet many people still struggle with poor decisions, broken relationships, and unstable foundations. The issue is not a lack of knowledge—it is a lack of wisdom.
Point 1: Wisdom Is the Foundation for Everything We Build
Proverbs 24:3
A strong life is built on wisdom, not talent, opportunity, or emotions.
Wisdom builds homes, families, ministries, businesses, and legacies.
What wisdom builds can withstand pressure and storms.
Key Thought:
"By wisdom a house is built."
Point 2: Wisdom Is More Than Knowledge
1 Kings 3:9-13
Solomon asked God for wisdom instead of wealth or success.
Wisdom is the skillful application of knowledge.
Knowledge tells us what is right; wisdom helps us apply it.
Key Thought:
Knowledge is what you know. Understanding is what you perceive. Wisdom is what you apply.
Point 3: Wisdom Is Revealed Through Our Conduct
James 3:13
Wisdom is demonstrated, not declared.
Our choices, attitudes, and actions reveal whether we are walking in wisdom.
True wisdom produces humility, maturity, and godly decision-making.
Key Thought:
Wisdom is not proven by what we say, but by how we live.
Point 4: Godly Wisdom Begins with the Fear of the Lord
Job 28:28
Proverbs 3:7
Human wisdom has limits.
Godly wisdom begins with reverence and obedience to God.
We cannot build God's purposes using worldly wisdom.
Key Thought:
Real wisdom comes from God, not from culture, experience, or popular opinion.
Point 5: God Gives Wisdom to Those Who Ask
James 1:5
Wisdom is available to every believer.
God gives wisdom generously.
Asking for wisdom should become a daily prayer.
Key Thought:
Don't just ask God for blessings—ask Him for wisdom.
Application
Ask yourself:
What am I currently building?
Am I building through impulse or wisdom?
What decisions in my life require God's wisdom right now?
Have I been asking God for the right things?
Takeaway
God doesn't just want to bless what we're building—He wants us to build it His way. When we seek His wisdom first, He gives us the foundation necessary to build a life that lasts.
Weekly Prayer
"Lord, give me wisdom to make decisions that honor You and build the future You have for me."
